Hector Barns-Field Limited is committed to high standards of health, safety and environmental performance on every project. We comply with Nigerian laws and regulations, international best practices and client requirements. Every person has Stop Work Authority when a hazard has not been resolved.

• Provide a safe and healthy working environment for employees, contractors and visitors
• Prevent injury, occupational illness, property damage, pollution and environmental harm
• Comply with Nigerian requirements including the Factories Act, Labour Act, EIA Act, NESREA and SON requirements
• Use risk assessment, incident reporting, emergency preparedness and continuous improvement to control project risk
• Give every person Stop Work Authority until an unsafe condition has been resolved

Zero Harm objectives: Zero fatalities, Zero lost-time injuries, Zero occupational illnesses, Zero significant environmental incidents.

QA/QC Policy

Every concrete cast undergoes slump and cube testing, with third-party laboratory verification reports. Material mill test certificates are required for all structural steel and rebar batches. Non-conformance reports trigger immediate corrective action.

• Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for all critical works
• Hold point inspections before cover-up
• Third-party material testing and verification

• As-built documentation and quality records

Environmental Policy

We adhere to Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and mitigate local ecosystem disruption through active site waste recycling, responsible material sourcing, and low-carbon construction methods where technically feasible.

• Environmental Impact Assessments for significant projects
• Waste segregation, recycling, and responsible disposal
• Excavated material reuse where geotechnically appropriate
• Low-carbon concrete mixes where structural requirements permit
• Compliance with Nigerian Environmental Standards (NESREA)
